Why OXplus Capacity Planner?

The OXplus Capacity Planner was designed and implemented for NS (Dutch Railways). At that time there was a struggle with First Time Right Decisions for the allocation of unplanned maintenance. More than 50% of all decisions had to be rescheduled. On top of that NS faced a 30% increase in fleet size that needs to be maintained with the same resources they already had.

The Capacity Planner presents and manages different types of maintenance work, controlled and effectively managed by Service Requests- and Work Order Management processes. Data from the Enterprise Asset Management System are used for intelligent decision making by means of smart algorithms.

Thanks to this innovation we made it possible to service 30% more vehicles with the same existing resource capacity. The Capacity Planner made NS reach a 33% increase in Service Capacity. At this time OXplus is productizing the Capacity Planner to make this solution available for our Global Rail, Rolling Stock and Infrastructure partners.
